Catching up!

Carlene & I have been busy being busy... So, we have some catching up to do!

We took a walk with Roscoe the other day. Very pretty in Standish this time of year...

Here is a picture up the river on the left:

Roscoe is no fool, he didn't even try to get near the water. Why? Because he said... "It's FREAKIN COLD!"

LOL

He does however take every opportunity to rest...


We've been reading and watching the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy by Peter Jackson. It's a great story but a lot of the detail, necessarily, gets left out. So, I have to read the whole story to Carlene. Not that I mind, I've read it to my boys several times. Of course, it'll have to wait until I've finished reading her the "Foundation" trilogy by Isaac Asimov.

Carlene and Jacquie spend an entire evening in the sewing room. Carlene is going to learn how to make a quilt. You could hear them laughing and giggling all over the house.

We're back in Camden visiting Roy and Jen this week. We spent the day wandering around Camden and visiting old haunts, or haunting old places, depending on your point of view...

We stopped on the way to let Roscoe out... And found a nice little spot:


We're both struck by how small things seem. We walked all over town and stopped in several shops in the space of a couple of hours.

The boat houses are all closed now and for sale. Sad. But, as a consolation prize, there are some very pretty lines to been seen:

We even took a ride out to Megunticook Lake to let Roscoe go for a swim at Barret's Beach:

We finished up the tour with a visit to Children's Chapel in Rockport, a very pretty place indeed:

Hello All,
Returned to Standish this afternoon after seeing my Sister Jenn, husband Roy, Niece Sarah and her soon to be 14 year old boy Quinn.

Jenn made the most wonderful cheese burgers and homemade mac and cheese for supper. The mac and cheese knocked our socks off!

We haven't seen each other for many years and it was even better than "old times". Sarah has grown into a pretty young woman and is doing a terrific job with her son. We're very proud of her. Roy, you're a gem! Thank you for taking such great care of Jenn!

Jenn has taken up drawing and painting and we love the things she has done. Roy does a lot with wood creating many different things. Lance and I need a bus to raid their home.

Roscoe tormented their cat Candy, she ended up on a shelf high above the living room, with a look of "whose is that big goof?" She tryed knocking Rosie out with kicking one of Jenn's new creations off the shelf on his head, LOL.

Wonderful nights sleep under the stars and planets all night long, was neat to wake and turn over and look up and see the stars. Hated leaving this morning, pouring rain and we are both anxious and excited to go back next week to roam old haunts, eat some more of Jenn's great cooking and Lance is going to make his pizza.

The weather has changed drastically for us in a short period of time, now beautiful fall in New England. Some spots had a bit of snow we got rain, but is very chilly at night into the mid 20's. We have a very cozy room at both homes. At Lance's Dad's we will be changing the bed we sleep because it's a twin, yes we love being close however I don't like being tossed out of bed at 4:30 in the morning and landing on the floor, it tends to be painful! I laughed after the shock wore off and poor Lance was freaking out because he had rolled over and when he did I became airborne and when I landed, it shook the entire house. Yes indeed it was very funny. Getting tired but want you all to know that we are safe happy and glad to be in Maine again (for awhile).

Stopped in to see Roy & Jen today. Its a spectacular place and Roy has done a lot of work around the place improving it... As seen in this picture:

We'll be back in Standish tomorrow after visiting some of the old haunts around town. Some of those places have very fond memories indeed.

Our Morning Walk

Carlene and I, and Roscoe the Wonder Dog of course, went for a walk this morning to shake out the cobwebs and take some pictures.

Arrived safe and sound at Dad's place in Standish, ME. We're going to rest tomorrow, visit Jenny in Camden on Monday.

Stopped in Putnam, CT to see Janice. See looks great! And so does Steph!

Caught Arline in Somerville (Boston) for a couple of hours and enjoyed some of David's most excellent Chili. Roscoe got to go for a walk and see a couple of other dogs up close.

Hi Everyone!

Feels like Fall this morning, a beautiful day. We are heading out of Chesapeake, Va.
Big "thank you" to Thairyan Alicia and the girls. Quite the family, Bella and Alexis keep Mom and Dad on there toes. Amazing to watch. Will see you after Christmas on our way home.

Just a couple more stops before we arrive in Maine to be with Lance's Dad and my Sister. Getting excited. Lobster clams and pie please,Jenn. :) Looking forward to hearing more stories from Ronn Lance's Dad about when he flew planes. Hoping to camp on there property as long as weather will allow.

Chesapeake

Arrived safe and sound at Thairyan and Alicia's house in Chesapeake. Nice place, big yard. The girls are still a little shy... but they are beautiful!


They're healthy and happy, sleepy and they scream incessantly and laugh hysterically at the slightest provacation --yep, little girls.

The traffic here is completely.friggin.nuts.

We've been on the road for a while, and we've seen all kinds of drivers and driving at various skill levels --or lack thereof. North Dakota is probably the worst for rudeness (sorry Rose, they're not all military imports...). But in terms of sheer speed, violent carelessness and non-stop, recklessness abandon in risk-taking, nothing matches (at least not yet) Hampton Roads.
